Lotus Domes
Spherical event spaces for hire all around the UK | Lotus Domes.
Project
Lotus Domes has been providing festivals and media stations all over the UK for over 10 years. Their geodesic dome structures are for hire or to buy for events, weddings, festivals and parties. The construction of the lotus dome is stable for all weather conditions. They allow maximum use of internal space with no internal supports or guy ropes. The project needed a variety of fabrics that could be used to line their domes, provide a calming interior for special needs shows and also provide backdrops for musicians and performers.
Solution
Our client chose our popular VENUS dimout fabric in Black, Pewter, and Gold for various dome applications. VENUS Black enhances staged performances, while VENUS Gold creates a calming atmosphere for special needs events like autism-friendly shows.

NHow Hotel, Amsterdam RAI
NHow Hotel
Amsterdam RAI
Project
Edmund Bell fabrics are used throughout the NHow Hotel in Amsterdam RAI. The 650-room hotel described as “a place where contemporary art, design, gastronomy and cultural expressions mix. A new vibrant hub for business travelers, tourists and Amsterdam locals alike. The iconic building, facing various wind directions, symbolises the melting-pot the city of Amsterdam has always been.” (NHow Amsterdam)
The hotel, located right beside the RAI Amsterdam Convention Centre, was designed by Dutch architect OMA and is made from three triangular volumes stacked on top of each other.
Solution
Our customer, Interior-Consult, was asked by the developer to provide design assistance to NH Hotels & the designers and to organise the procurement and project coordination of all furniture, fixtures and equipment. The guestrooms are inspired inspired by the cardinal direction the particular room faces – South, East, North, South West, South East and North West. There is an eclectic mix of vibrant colours, patterns and traditional elements freshly interpreted throughout. Edmund Bells large colour ranges were the perfect solution, with an average of 28 colours in each of our decorative blackout ranges – an ideal option for hotel bedrooms as they offer complete light exclusion to ensure a perfect nights sleep. The chosen blackout fabrics were Discovery Damson, Discovery Green Tea, Discovery Indigo and Zanzibar Bordeaux – so very colourful! Over 5000 metres of double with fabric was needed for this project.
They also worked with our designers on a bespoke plain colour print, using Edmund Bell’s Printlab service – our ability to offer special colours via custom printing was exactly what they were after. The colour was printed onto the chosen base fabric; flame retardant Outback Silk FR offering 100% light exclusion.

Project
Edmund Bell fabrics are used throughout the Hard Rock Hotel in London. The 900-room hotel is the Hard Rock’s first hotel in the United Kingdom and opened its doors in Spring 2019.
Built in one of London’s most iconic locations – on the corner of Oxford Street and Park Lane – the hotel puts guests just steps away from the very best London has to offer.
Solution
Internationally recognised as a world-class entertainment and lifestyle brand, Hard Rock Hotels offer stylish and contemporary design (hardrockhotels.com) and what better way to do this than with a bespoke design using Edmund Bell’s Printlab service in collaboration with the Hard Rock design team.
Specified to supply curtain fabric for all 900 bedrooms, designers at Edmund Bell were tasked with creating a blue Ombré effect design, fitting the brief of cutting-edge décor, cool tones and modern design. The design was to be printed onto the chosen base fabric; flame retardant Venus dimout together with an FR blackout lining offering 100% light exclusion. These were then paired with an FR white slub sheer to add an element of privacy without blocking out the light during the day.
