Designers in the industry have experienced the spring round of events and exhibitions since the beginning of the year; starting with Heimtextil in Frankfurt, followed by Deco Off and Maison et Object in Paris, then journeying on to Evteks in Istanbul, before culminating at Proposte in the delightful Lake Como, Italy.
It has been quite the European tour – gathering with excitement what’s new and what’s not so new anymore, in the trend world. It is important to engage with worldwide design trends, due to their importance in helping us to develop the new products our customers expect.
These days, fashion and interior trends are inextricably linked; consumers and industry experts are crucially more concerned about what’s influencing their worlds and how they can go on to influence their clients and projects with the newest key looks. Below are a few of the top-line trends, which we will be expanding on in future blogs throughout the year.
Tropical, it seemed was a pre-requisite for most international collections adding a frivolous exotic twist with lush jungle leaves, toucans and parrots and oh so cheeky monkeys!
Watercolour florals featured heavily, and our GALLERIE print collection made its mark in late 2015 and captures the look as it embraces the watercolour technique and creates those dreamy mixes of colour.
Botanical and organic patterns rendered realistically and, true to form, worked at the opposite end of the flora and fauna world. LAKELAND and SANCTUARY; so both print and weave collections, typically drew inspiration from natural forms.
