Take a look behind the scenes of our GALLERIE print collection.
See what we got up to on the shoot and get an idea of what planning and preparation goes into making it happen!
Our new GALLERIE print collection captures the very latest in watercolour effect designs, conjuring up a playful vision of freshness, spontaneity and heady summer days. Our inspiration behind these designs was the hand painted watercolours of the French impressionists, taking us on a journey to the gardens of the Riviera.
Five fresh and contemporary designs are presented in a selection of five colourways that draw on a wealth of diverse inspiration yet blend intuitively to change the mood. Salmon & Mint, Magenta & Lime, Aqua, Seafoam and Blueberry are among the medley of colours that blend harmoniously to evoke lazy summer days.
There is always so much planning that goes into a photoshoot:
– We come up with the room set concepts; do we want a living set, bedroom set and so on
– Order enough sample fabric in the right designs & colours
– Decide which of our other ranges will coordinate well within the shoot
– Get everything made in advance by a selection of our fabulous customers
– Source props for each room set in the right colours
– And make sure everything gets delivered on time to the studio……..easy peasy!
We then have to make sure we get enough shots in enough different angles to anticipate what we might need for advertising, sampling such as brochures & pattern books, and make sure we get a nice range of designs from the collection in each shot.
And finally, after we have captured every image and angle we can possibly think of……..it is down to our brilliant photography team to edit the images and do any colour match tweaking!
With summer approaching, we have updated our popular VENUS Dimout Collection. We have kept the well-loved colours within the range, but introduced 14 new vibrant colours to give the whole collection a fresh, new look!
VENUS is a soft handle plain weave, FR Dimout fabric that offers a pleasant, diffused lighting allowing only 2% of light through. It is a soft flowing fabric used as a lining when total light exclusion is not necessary. It is available in a range of 39 colours in both narrow and wide widths thus offering versatility in colour and usage.
The following colours will be discontinued when current stock runs out:
• HONEY • TAUPE • BEIGE BROWN • SAND • MOSS • CHOCOLATE • COPPER • HAZEL
• ORANGE YELLOW • ICE BLUE • YELLOW ORANGE
There are 14 new, more on-trend colours, as shown below, being introduced that include warm browns, cool greys, some more blues and modern greens, as well as some statement colours such as Lipstick! They will of course be available in both 150cm and 300cm width as the existing range.

And the result……..
It was not a typical day at the office on Friday at Edmund Bell HQ! The marketing team were joined by Jo Whitehead of Two White Heads Photography to do some product shots for sister company Redwood TTM. We also managed to sneak in a few images of our new iCON Roman Blind head rail kits and you may recognise a few of our fabric collections too!
Location: the EB showroom. After leaving Jo to it for the first hour or so to perfect the lighting – who knew what went into ‘setting the scene’ for a photo shoot! – we took advantage of the existing items in the showroom to design each set. It was an all day job but we had cake to keep us going!
We are only in our third week back after Christmas and we have already been to our first exhibition of 2015! We had a very successful 4 days at HEIMTEXTIL Exhibition in Frankfurt with lots of visitors to the stand and considerable interest in our new Discovery Blackout and Atmosphere Dimout.
With over 2700 exhibitors from over 60 countries and more than 68,000 trade visitors, it is definitely the biggest exhibition we attend! The total hall space at Messe Frankfurt where Heimtextil is held is 578,000 square metres so there are definitely some tired feet for our staff who looked around – but lots of inspiration too!!
Our sales team have certainly had a busy week sending out all the requests for samples, brochures, pattern cards and hangers!
Who doesn’t love a Hollywood Ball! We danced Saturday night away at the Edmund Bell Christmas party at Aintree Racecourse; it is safe to say that everyone had an amazing time – the dodgems certainly contributed to this! Only 362 days to go until the next one……
We hope you all have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Yesterday, we hopped on the train down to sunny (and warm!) London to visit the London Design Centre, Chelsea, to discover what is happening in the world of design, get some inspiration, ideas and discover the latest trends. With over 102 showrooms, we certainly weren’t short of things to see!
We stocked up on ideas for how to present our showroom and pattern books and get the best displays possible from our vast range of wonderful fabrics. We also picked up an idea or two for our exhibition stands……watch out 2015!
